Executive Register

IB names the top business and civic leadership in the Greater Madison region in its annual Executive Register, published in the July print issue of In Business magazine. Approximately 1,000 business professionals with executive titles, and responsibilities for staff and budget, have the required combination of business expertise and community service. To be considered, applicants submit an online professional directory profile and click the "consider me for the Executive Register" option. Honorees are selected in June and notified in July, with a private reception event hosted by IB in September.

40 Under 40 Directory

This directory offers a cumulative look at the honorees of In Business magazine's annual 40 Under 40 issue. Since its inception as a print story, the 40 Under 40 has grown to include video, web, and event coverage of Greater Madison's best young talent. The career benefits of being named to the prestigious group of young leaders profiled in this section is self-obvious, and so there are always more applicants than slots, and nominees from one year are encouraged to re-apply if not selected (as long as application deadline predates a 40th or later birthday).  We are now accepting applications for the 2014 class. Honorees will have made a significant contribution to their industry and/or to the community.

Hall of Fame

This is a cumulative directory of people honored in IB's annual Hall of Fame issue of In Business magazine. Honorees are selected by the previous year's class, with selection criteria determined by the In Business editorial team. Winners are recognized for having created a legacy body of work which has positively impacted not only the community, but also their industry or profession. This is the "gold standard" to which other business and community leaders aspire. All nominations originate with the selection committee.

When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quickbase often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quickbase finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quickbase needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

  • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
  • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.
